AIC is abbreviation for the "Assyrian International Council" which is the proposed name for the representative body that will be elected during this conference.
BD is short for Board of Directors for the AIC which for this conference the preparatory committee will act as the BD. In future the BD will be elected during each conference (National Assembly, Summit, etc.) or right after the conference the elected body will join to select their BD.
● Section 1: Elections Participants
The AIC shall be elected by the following participants either in person or via online and their voting powers
1. Representative of an Assyrian Federation or Assyrian Union elected by Assyrian Associations. (5 votes)
2. Representative of a registered elected Assyrian Associations. (3 votes)
3. Representative of a nonprofit legally registered Assyrian organization (2 votes)
4. Representative of a major Assyrian political organization (5 votes)
5. Representative of a minor Assyrian political organization (2 votes)
6. All Assyrian individuals attending the conference will be divided in voting blocs based on their country and will have one representative for a community of at least 5000 Assyrians and additional vote per every 20,000 Assyrians in their respective country. The election committee shall provide a basis for its estimation of every Assyrian community population. The conference admin shall review and make final decisions on the election committee rules and estimations.
7. All participants shall register in advance to be able to participate and vote.
● Section 2: Election Rules
The AIC shall be elected by the following rules:
1. An election committee of (3) individuals assigned by the administration and a minimum of (3) observers selected from volunteers at the conference. Any complaints about the election committee shall be handled by the conference administration or their delegates and resolved before the election results finalized.
2. The criteria for being able to participate and vote in the conference shall be determined by the administration and approved by the majority. The Election committee shall comply with the decisions.
3. Only one of the organization leadership members can represent the organization and other members, if attending, shall vote as individuals.
4. The Election committee will review the qualifications of voters and candidates.
5. Voting shall be democratic, safe, secure and private.
● Section 3: Election Candidates
The AIC candidates shall be qualified based on the following rules
1. Candidates shall have Assyrian roots. To establish if a candidate is eligible, he/she shall have at least one of the grandparents known to be an Assyrian person. The verification shall be done by the Election Committee at least 1 day prior to the elections.
2. There shall be no discrimination based on age, sex, language, experience level, religion or similar limitation imposed on any candidates.
3. Candidates shall not be a security officer or a political representative of a non-Assyrian nation.
4. Candidate shall not be banned or under investigation by the AIC for any wrongful acts against the interests of AIC or Assyrians in general.
● Section 4: Election Process
The AIC candidates in the shall be elected by the following rules
1. The organization’s delegates and individual voters all shall be registered and verified by the election committee before or during the conference but before the elections.
2. The election committee will explain the rules before the elections and conduct the elections after that.
3. There shall be no less than 30 participants to hold the conference or elect the AIC’s members
4. All rejected candidates have the right to submit a complain to the ANA and the decision shall be made by the vote of the majority of participants.
